What the Hell? Are you Stupid or what?
I am not sure if people actually read the schedules or if they read the schedules and just don’t give a fuck, but I have never seen a more irresponsibly incompetent, disrespectful schedule in my life. I pay for these classes and the administration is blatantly saying “screw you, it’s not your business, it’s ours!” There is no wonder to me why university degrees in Thailand are useless! The administration for the IIS Ramkhamhaeng University is the greatest hindrance one has toward their education.
Here is a brief synopsis of just one schedule, I am insulted and I am not even going to consider looking at the other schedules as it is apparent to me the insult to my intelligence is the last thing being considered.
The first course on one schedule sees students going to school 3 days a week for 8 days, 9-4, starting Monday the 9th of November until the 25th of November. After a six week break students go back to a slow start of 3 days a week for the remainder of the month of November.
From this point there is over a 3 week break. Why?
The second course starts on the 17th of December, 2-days a week from 9 – 6, we want your money, screw your education, it’s not about education, it’s about us stealing your money! The course is 6 days long and it ends on the 7th of January. Even the most studious, most brilliant of students will have a difficult time maintaining their interest level with 8 hours a day of lectures. This course ends the 6th of January. In addition, I doubt that you will be required to attend the classes until 6pm each day. This is blatantly stealing your money.
The third course starts on the 18th of December. 9 – 4 each day, 3-days a week until the 6th of January 2010. There are classes on December 25th. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought this was an International School, 9 – 4 Christmas day! I hear the administration saying “fuck your God! Fuck your stupid customs!” But I digress because the most egregious issue is the fact that 4 of the 8 days 100% overlap with other classes on the schedule. December 29th overlaps with the previous class and December 30th, January 4th and 5th overlap with the next class. 50% of this class overlaps with other classes! Is it me or is it them? Are we so stupid as to not care or notice or is the administration really this stupid? Or is the administration totally aware and just do not care? If anyone and I do challenge you who is reading this right now, can offer some logical reason that is not otiose pablum please do… I mean it please try to get my head out of the gutter here!
The fourth class, as you know from the previous paragraph, is already marred by the previous course, begins on the 28th of December, 9 – 4, 3-days a week until the 15th of January, 2010. I think I already harped enough about the shortcomings of this course.
At this point, there is an over 4-week break. This is definitely the schedule of breaks! So far, I have summarized 50% of this schedule and I am wondering if I bother to continue if anyone will actually read what I write. However, I must finish the job I started.
The fifth course starts on the 15th of February, 2010 with classes 9 – 4, 3-days a week and go through February 24th. Thank God, oops, thank Buddha that there is a break before it and the opportunity to overlap the previous course is really, really difficult however, with that said the powers to be must have decided to mess things up really good due to lost opportunities and promptly double booked 3 of the 8 days, namely February 19th, 22nd and the 24th with the next course. For some of our less observant reader, I sure you minds are numb by now, this course starts one week and ends the next spanning 10 days total or 1.5 weeks with 3 days overlapping.
The sixth course starts on February 25th, runs 9 – 4, 3-days a week and finishes the 30th of March. The course runs 7 days. There is a 4-week break after the first day of the course. I can only imagine because the administration could not overlap during this period, so they waited until they could, which is what happens. This course wins for the semester as the most overlapped course of them all! No less than 6 of 8 days overlap. That’s 75% overlapping days, the 19th, 22nd, 24th, 26th, 29th and 30th of March overlap with the next course(s). This is the epitome of pathetic. This schedule could be added to Wikipedia as a formal definition of stupid.
The seventh course starts on the 2nd of March, runs 9 – 4, has a two week break, runs 2-days, 3-days and 1-day a week and only overlaps two days, the 26th and 30th of March. I am beginning to think that only two days overlap is a good thing! Then I think that I am paying for this. Monetarily and educationally not to mention the time and effort I put into it and all of a sudden I once again feel repulsed.
The eighth course begins on the 15th of March, runs from 9 – 4, 3-days a week and ends on the 31 of March which might be a good time to start your career as an alcoholic considering the semester of crap you were just subjected too. This is another humdinger with 5 of the 8 days overlapping.
This schedule is the work of neophytes and reeks of incompetence. If the administration approved this, then they are blind, incompetent or they just don’t give a fuck! The lack of morals, ethics, logic and intelligence is overwhelming. How can this be published. Unfortunately all I can think is this is YOUR fault! What have you said about it? Have you talked to your Student government representative about it? Oh, ya I forgot, we, the student body, are too stupid to have a student government. Maybe that’s why this administration, which by the looks of it should be fired, actually has the audacity to publish such shit.
I am once again left with the familiar taste left after the forceful expulsion of the contents of one's stomach through the mouth and sometimes the nose dripping down into my mouth that I all too often have when trying to be a studious student at this university! This is unacceptable! Shame on you all!
