The need for subtitles

Sometimes we just have a need for better English skills, It's just that having a certain degree of English skills just don't cut it all the time. There has been many times when I have been talking with someone in English and .. well they just dont get it! Take for instance this example:

As you can see from the example that a lack of understanding can have hazardous effects if the situation dictates a certain degree of English knowledge. At other times, it would be very useful to have subtitles so the person talking could actually read the subtitles and therefore be understood a bit better. Take for instance this example:

Sometimes, things happen and your English gets messed up a bit and you ... kind of ... well ...revert back to a different era and old bad English habits just pop up from no where.

So, if you are subjected to subtitles, there is no need to feel insulted. It is most important that you are understood when you do speak English. After all it would suck if you were not understood.
